Children and Family Dentistry - Laval

Your child's oral health is paramount, which is why we recommend a visit to the dentist as early as 3 years old. During this consultation, the dentist will establish the first contact with your child and help them get used to the environment and feel more relaxed. We will examine:

  • Whether there are any cavities
  • The number of teeth
  • Dental occlusion (the way your child's teeth meet when the jaws bite together)
  • Swallowing
  • Interdental spaces

Depending on the child's willingness and participation, the hygienist will perform scaling and polishing and advise on how to keep the teeth healthy. A proper diet and good oral hygiene routine at home will go a long way in maintaining excellent oral health.

Regular check-ups are recommended every 6 to 12 months, depending on the state of your child's oral health. As the child grows, the dentist will ensure that their teeth are developing normally and determine if a referral to the orthodontist is necessary.
